Privacy Policy

Introduction
At Regexflux, we respect your privacy. This policy describes what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding that data. Regexflux is a client-side regex testing and exploration tool — all regex matching happens entirely in your browser. We do not collect personal information directly.
Data We Collect
We do not collect personally identifiable information (PII). There are no user accounts, no login forms, and no personal data fields. All regex computation runs in your browser using Web Workers — your patterns and test strings are never sent to our servers.
Cookies
We use a small number of cookies. Essential cookies manage your preferences (such as consent and theme) and are strictly necessary for the site to function — they are exempt from consent requirements under GDPR and ePrivacy regulations. In addition, Google AdSense sets its own advertising cookies to serve personalized ads. These are third-party cookies subject to Google's own cookie policy. See the Advertising section below for opt-out options.
| Cookie | Provider | Purpose | Expiry |
|---|---|---|---|
regexflux-consent | Regexflux | Cookie consent preference | 365 days |
regexflux-theme | Regexflux | Color theme preference | 365 days |
__gads / __gpi | Google AdSense | Ad performance measurement | 13 months |
IDE | Google DoubleClick | Ad conversion tracking | 13 months |
NID | User preferences for ads | 6 months |
Analytics
We use Vercel Web Analytics to understand aggregate usage patterns. Vercel Web Analytics is privacy-friendly: it does not use cookies, does not collect PII, and is GDPR-compliant without requiring consent. No personal data is tracked or stored.
Error Monitoring
We use Sentry to capture and report application errors. Sentry may collect anonymized technical data including error stack traces, browser type, OS, and IP address (truncated). This data is used solely to diagnose and fix bugs. Sentry does not receive any regex patterns or test strings.
Hosting
Regexflux is hosted on Vercel. Vercel may collect standard web server logs (IP address, browser type, pages visited) as part of normal hosting operations. See Vercel's privacy policy for details.
Advertising
We use Google AdSense to display advertisements. Google may use cookies and web beacons to serve ads based on your prior visits to this or other websites. For users in the EU/EEA, we implement Google Consent Mode v2, which defaults advertising cookies to "denied" until you provide consent. You can manage your ad preferences at Google Ad Settings. See Google's privacy policy for more information.
Local Storage
We store the following data in your browser's localStorage. This data is never transmitted to any server:
regex-history: Your last 50 regex patterns (for the history feature)onboarding_seen: Whether you've completed the onboarding tourtutorial-progress: Your lesson completion statustheme: Your preferred color theme
Your Rights (GDPR)
Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), you have the right to access, rectify, or delete any personal data we hold. Since Regexflux does not collect PII directly, there is typically no personal data to retrieve. If you believe we hold any data about you, contact us and we will respond within 30 days.
California Privacy Rights (CCPA)
Regexflux does not collect or store personal information in the normal course of use — no user accounts, no profiles, no tracking. Because no personal information is held, there is typically nothing to access or delete under the CCPA. Regexflux does not sell personal information. If you submitted a contact form inquiry, you may request deletion of that message by contacting us via our contact form.
Children's Privacy
Regexflux is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has submitted personal information through our contact form, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
Third-Party Links
Regexflux may contain links to third-party websites. We are not responsible for the privacy practices or content of those external sites. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of any third-party sites you visit.
Contact Form
When you submit the contact form, your message is processed by Web3Forms, a third-party form service. Web3Forms processes form submissions on servers located in the United States and forwards them to our email inbox. Submitted data (name, email, message) is retained for up to 30 days. The contact form uses hCaptcha for bot protection. See Web3Forms' privacy policy and hCaptcha's privacy policy for details.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected in the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
